The AP5BR device is a half-wave rectifier with an admissible input power supply between 100 and 500 Vac; it is particularly suitable in those applications where a shorter armature plate release time is required compared with a standard brake. The particular internal electronic configuration guarantees a high intervention speed and excellent reliability. The device is equipped with a circuit to ensure a decisive excitation (opening of the brake) as, when switched on, it feeds the brake with a full wave for a fraction of a second. After this excitation time (start) the brake is powered with a half wave thus reducing the current absorption. Input and output are protected from overvoltage spikes. The container is completely renewed, of reduced dimensions and inlet-outlet are with terminal block. A switch can be inserted between terminals 4 and 5 to remove DC voltage from the brake, improving the de-excitation times. The circuit is completely housed in a container and drowned in epoxy resin to ensure better protection.
